Delayed!

Well, we didn’t go to bed last night because we spent the whole night packing and getting everything together that we needed. We were actually able to get all of our clothes and stuff into one bag that my Dad and I are sharing, and it’s small enough to carry on. So we’re pretty happy with that.

We arrived at the airport and got all our equipment registered with US Customs and said our good byes and went through security. We started off strong and both got flagged for a “secondary screening.” We got everything searched and got everything through except the Peter Pan Honey Crunchy Peanut Butter…. Bummer.

Anyway — now we are here at our gate of which we were supposed to depart 16 minutes ago (2:16PM) and we are looking at some serious delays because of weather in Chicago… probably won’t leave til after 4!!

Thanks for all your comments, I’ll try to keep this thing as updated as possible :-)

Hey Austin! I saw that you’re heading to Addis in October…if you get a chance, you may try and drive a couple hours south of Addis to Butijira where Project Mercy is located. That’s where I’ve spent my two summers in Ethiopia and it’s beautiful country at the base of a mountain range. If you go farther south towards Hosana, you get some even more beautiful countryside and mountains. Enjoy Ethiopia for me! Have a wonderful trip!

Your Trek is fabuloso!! We absorbed every word. Your picures are awesome. Can hardly wait to see all 20 million.

We will get to see your Mom, Em and Lesley Homecoming weekend. We can hardly wait. I bet your ears will burn.

We are very impressed with the concept of the orphanage program. Sounds really good. Don’t forget a thing.

We are good. Weather here is perfect. If you remember, it stays that way for about two weeks. Guess you’ll miss it.

You guys hang in there and enjoy every minute. xoxo
