I arrived in Liberia, Costa Rica a couple of days ago… and love it. It feels alot like parts of Guatemala but it here in Liberia I don’t see the same classic colonial architecture and general influence like I did in Antigua.
Last night the US played Costa Rica in the World Cup Qualifier in San Jose, Costa Rica… it’s about 4 hours drive from where I am and I was so close to going but after reading about how crazy the fans could get and considering the route there was full of unknown and poorly maintained roads, I had to stay here in Liberia.
I did, however, make it out to a little pub where the fans were probably loud enough to be heard in San Jose. The best was when the US took a penalty kick and everybody in the place around me started yelling and screaming as if they were trying to distract the shooter…Alas, it didn’t work, the US put a goal in the last couple minutes of the game.

Rapido! Rapido!! GOOAAALLLLLLLL!!!
We lost 3-1.
Today, P-dodd gets in and we are headed to the beach to do some camping and tagproject scouting/brainstorming.
Got some cool images yesterday form the shore but haven’t loaded them online yet. Will get some online in the next couple of days.
You should check out my sisters blog… she’s in Florence and loving it:
