July’s desktop comes straight from South Africa! When I was at the World Cup last week I did a series of abstract/fine art images of the amazing Soccer City Stadium in Joburg… I also thought it might be useful to have the tourney bracket/schedule for those of us that are following the games closely… and for those of you that aren’t so interested in futbol, I have a version without the bracket as well… Enjoy!

Sorry this one is late! Here’s a brand new shot, fresh out of my trip in Ethiopia for the May 2010 desktop. This is shot from the chopper as we passed over the Omo Valley. That’s the Omo River you see there, a fierce river full of wild life (crocs, hippos, enormous fish.) The Omo is a key to the life of many of the tribes that live in these areas such as Mursi. As always, two sizes for regular and higher resolution displays. Enjoy!

Back in 2007 I designed a whole bunch of desktops to distribute out to people but I never ended up sending them out. I recently saw on David duChemin’s blog that he does a monthly desktop image and that re-inspired me to do the same. If you haven’t seen David’s incredible work, definitely check it out: http://www.pixelatedimage.com.

I’ll be posting a new desktop image at the first of each month, in two different resolutions: 1280×800 and 1920×1200. This first one if from Beichuan, China. I shot this during the concert that Steven Curtis Chapman and his son were playing outdoors, as a benefit to the community. It was pouring down rain but that didn’t stop them from putting on the show and certainly didn’t stop the crowds from packing out the area for the concert! Enjoy!
